We are a team of experts in human memory and brain functioning, the role of strategies in memory, and how ageing can affect these (‘cognitive ageing’). We are based at the Universities of Strathclyde, Leeds and Sheffield. Our goal is to develop evidence-based strategy training to support everyday memory as we age. Here, you can find out more about our research, which has been funded by the Economic and social Research Council. This involves a combination of University lab-based, brain imaging and eye tracking studies, as well as research carried out in the real-world context.
We will also share state-of-the-art evidence-based guidance and resources on cognitive ageing and how we might use strategies to boost everyday memory. This will include a “Strategy Toolkit”, which we are currently co-developing with clinicians, voluntary sector partners and older adults in the community.
